Our advent calendar hanging beside our "coffee shop" has a sparkly candy cane marking the date. I couldn't decide on what to put in the pockets so instead of having something in each pocket, I decided to hang the candy cane on the date.
A fond candy cane tradition in my family: If I were in my hometown, I'd stop by my grandparents house and take a picture. Every year since I can remember, they have hung candy canes on their tree and, growing up, I would pick one off and eat it every time we visited.
