Another December Photo Challenge in the Works

Hello my fellow twenty somethings! i hope i am not alone in thinking where the heck has this year gone? There are only 25 days left in the year of 2016 WHOA pure craziness! As the Farmers Daughter mentioned in her post yesterday, this year we are doing our December photo challenge a bit differently by using 1 second video clips meshed with multiple days photos together. Shout out to Granny Eyre for suggesting the 1 sec video app as a way to compile our pictures. So onto the actual photo compilation. This first video of mine encompasses Days 1,2,3,5,6. These photos represent, light in its true December form, a tradition of watching my most favorite Christmas movie, a morning of a capella singing of Christmas tunes, a tree that most definitely was not manmade so it counts as homemade in my book, and lastly a glimpse of my to-do list on this particular Tuesday in my life. Without further ado my video!

Days 1-6 but minus day 4

If yall could please let me know if the link works, and if it's causing you any trouble, that would be great.

Pictures Not Included

Hello fellow twenty somethings! It's been a while since my last post. Summer wasn't even here yet and now what do you, summer only has a month left. Crazy. These past couple of months have flown by. Lots of new music, an app that keeps getting better, and some fun adventures with all of you. Currently, well the last week and half, my life has consisted of watching the Olympics. By far my most favorite sport to watch is women's indoor volleyball. As a player of the sport sporadically in my mere 24 years of life, i very much get into the sport and of course i have to root for the USA. So far the team has been undefeated. After a complete shutout of Japan 3 sets to 0, these women are on their way to the semifinals on Thursday. Something that sort of bugs me about the Olympics is Micheal Phelps. i do give him props for doing so well in his swimming career. My qualm is with the way all these people are calling him the most decorated Olympian. In my opinion I do not think an athlete deserves that title unless they have competed in different sports not just one particular. That's all i have to say about that. i have made a couple of post about music in the past but haven't in a while so i want to catch you up on what songs are currently on my playlist, mind you some of these are a few months old but still on my playlist don't judge.
1. Charlie Puth- One Call Away (because you all know i'm only one call away)
2. Love Yourself- Justin Beiber (just tell it how it is bro)
3. Here's My Heart Lord- Passion Worship Band (i owe everything to God this song sings that)
4. To Live is Christ- Sidewalk Prophets (my life is lived for His glory)
5. How You Get the Girl- T. Swift (what's a playlist without my girl T. Swift)
6. Let It Go- James Bay (not to be confused with Frozens hit song)
7. One Step Away- Casting Crowns (God is always near)
8. One True God- Steven Curtis Chapman
9. Home- Blue October (i heard a song by them years ago and this song is just as good)
10. Fight Song- Rachel Platten (if ever i need motivation this is where i go)
11. 7 Years- Lukas Graham (reminds me life is an ever changing adventure, live it)
12. Stand In The Light- Jordan Smith (don't be afraid to go and do)
13. Between the Lines- Sara Bareilles
14. Lost Boy- Ruth B (my sister introduced me to this)
15. Refuge- Finding Favor (God is a safety)
Something i've been doing a couple days a week for a few hours on those days, is volunteering my time at the library. It is good for me, having a bit of structure. i have been mostly shelving books. It is a peaceful go at your own pace kind of task. This kind of task is a perfect fit for me, i very much enjoy it. A goal of mine is to start riding my bicycle at least 3 times a week. i think it will be helpful to stay active in this way. Well that's a bit of what's happening on my end. Who I am

Today's post is a bit interesting. I wasn't exactly sure how to form I am who I am in a blog post. After some contemplating during the day I decided on not confining myself to just one thing. So who I am, first off I am a child of God. I am also a daughter, sister of ten siblings, aunt to nine awesome kids, friend, college graduate, rook player, hiker, volleyball player, frisbee lover, avid reader, and goofy individual.

Well that's who I am and probably some other things that I've not yet discovered. Peace to you all.

Good Day Sunshine

This sunshine the past couple of days has been a definite change from the rainy two weeks. My flowers are especially liking this weather.

Peace to you all.

It's twelve o'clock somewhere

If I am incorrect someone please let me know, but I am pretty certain it is twelve o'clock somewhere almost all day. Which I think is very cool! Anyhow my picture for today is of the sun at noon o'clock here in my time zone. A word of advice though, don't look directly at the sun when trying to take a picture at this time of day because you might be momentarily blinded.

As you might have noticed, this picture is clearly edited but I like it this way. Peace to you all.

Understanding and Friends

I apologize again for being a tad bit late in posting. Yesterday's picture was what you are reading, almost everyday I check out blog post from the web site of my favorite non profit organization, To Write Love On Her Arms. I came across an old post but it's meaning is still the same and I did read it so here you go. To those who may not understand.

Now onto today's picture, where I stand. I thought about this one a lot today and finally came to a conclusion of where I stand. The answer to that is I stand with friends. I know my friends will stand with me and I will stand with them.

Peace to you all.

Hope is an anchor for my soul

To be honest I don't really like to think about about unhappiness so I'm going to skip that photo and move right into the post about my favorite word. Drum roll please... Hope is most definitely my favorite word. Without hope life is meaningless and my life has hope because of Jesus Christ and he is an anchor for my soul. Peace to you all.

Happiness is...

Merriam Webster defines happiness as a state of well being and contentment. I rather like this definition especially the contentment part. I think you can find contentment in lots of things and those things don't have to be big or even tangible. On Christmas Eve this past year I watched the 50th anniversary show of A Charlie Brown Christmas. In the show there were a few people who talked about Charlie Brown and there were some artist who sang different songs. One such song stood out to me and it comes to mind for this particular post. Kristen Chenoweth sang the song from Charlie Brown called Happiness Is. In the episode a few of the characters from the show sang that song. The reason I very much like this song is because the children who sang it find happiness in things that as an adult I tend to forget about. I am going to share my favorite line from the song here,

Happiness is being alone every now and then.
And happiness is coming home again
Happiness is morning and evening
Daytime and nighttime too
For happiness is anyone and anything at all
That's loved by you

To hear the Kristen Chenoweth version I've added the link Happiness Is

To end this post I am going with how this post started, happiness is contentment.
Peace to you all.

Fun and Inspiration

Yesterday's post was something FUN! There are a great many things that I consider fun and yesterday I got to partake in one of those things. An older lady from church asked me to help her out with her flower beds. I very much like being outside working with plants. It is very relaxing.

So onto today's post, someone who inspires you. My friends/fellow twenty somethings inspire me every day. I see creativity, kindness, wisdom, courage, strength, loyalty and so many other traits from my awesomely amazing friends that inspire me everyday to keep on going. I am so thankful that God has put these people in my life that I call friends who are very inspiring.

Sunday Doings

My favorite thing to do on Sunday is to go to church to worship the Lord. I love being able to worship in song and discussing Bible text with different groups of people who share the same love of Christ that I have. Being able to attend church very much strengthens me and encourages me to go about the rest of the week.

Two in one

Hello friends sorry for being off the radar the past few days. It's been a kind of strange week. So I've made am executive decision, I will only be catching up on yesterday's photo and today's because it would be way too many of an overload to try and get all the ones I've missed. Okay now to the actually pictures, for the 13th day of the challenge we are supposed to show a TV show we are addicted to. Problem for me is I couldn't just pick one, instead I have narrowed it down to three.
Number 1 is a new current addiction saying as the show only came out a month ago. The show is called Strong. It is a real life type show that follows ten regular women who get selected to participate in a program called Strong. Strong is a fitness show that has the women paired up with one male trainer. The trainers all vary in the type of fitness they focus on and do best with. So it's kinda cool to see the different training styles. Throughout each week there are a couple challenges each team partakes in against all the other teams. The losing team of the challenge automatically gets sent to the elimination tower and the winning team gets to decide which team will go against the losing team in the tower. So every week one team gets sent home. Unfortunately the team I was rooting for to win just got sent home last week. But there are still five teams remaining it will be interesting to see who wins.

Number 2 is another newish show called Limitless. Season one just ended two weeks ago and I'm really hoping CBS picks it back up for another season. The premise of this show is that humans only use ten percent of their brain function. So the show is following a man named Brian Finch who gets recruited by the FBI to help solve cases. The cool thing though is Brian is able to take a pill called nzt. This pill helps Brian use the other 90 percent of his brain to see things in different ways that help the FBI solve these cases.

Number 3 is Criminal Minds. I got into this show my senior year of highschool when I was taking a geography class that my younger sister convinced me to take with her. Ever since then any time I get the chance I will watch this show. Sometimes however I make the mistake of watching it right before bedtime which causes me but to be able to sleep very well at all.To be very brief because I think most of you know at least a little about this show. The show follows a sector of the FBI called behavior analysis unit. The people on the team are able to use their unique knowledge and skill sets that enable them to see how serial killers, psychopaths, and just plain murders behave and think and then they are able to stop the killings.

Okay so now onto the 14th photo for the challenge, what I'm wearing. Since it is almost 1 o'clock in the morning I decided it would be more interesting to have a picture of what I wore today instead of what I'm currently wearing. To be honest though the clothing is very similar minus the blue jeans.

Well that's all for now. I'm going to try my darnedest to keep up with the daily picture post for the rest of the month. We shall see how that goes. Goodnight, Captain signing off.

Say cheese

I was wondering throughout the day how I would capture a smile for this post. Well after taking a walk with Granny and Martha, I had to make a stop at the Mart of Wal to get some oil for my car. While there I some how managed to bring home some Pillsbury cookies. So of course I had to make them. And guess what, there was the cutest little dough boy on the package. So I took a quick picture of him and my tasty cookies too!

Are you afraid of the dark?

Ever since I was a young child I have been afraid of the dark. I'm not really sure where this fear stems from and I don't especially like it. However I have a way to deal with this fear. How you ask? Well it is in the form of a night light. I've gone through many night lights in my life. The current night light I am using was given to me by Granny Eyre way back sophomore year. It didn't get a lot of use while rooming with Granny because she didn't like the light while she slept. But now since I've had my own room I've been able to keep the light shining in the dark of night. No boogie monsters coming for me now.

Lots of seasons

So first I gotta say Granny Eyre totally stole my idea for this particular post. But that's okay. I have a couple other ideas for this post though. For example, this is a season for yard sales, a season for beautiful weather and sunsets, and a season for saying goodbye to some friends who are graduating in just two days. I couldn't just pick one so I'm sharing pictures of all three.

                   Some friends graduating

                       Beautiful weather

                         Yard sales this way

Toilet paper is a need

Right now my greatest need is most likely toilet paper. I always seem to be running low on the stuff. Some people might say that is because I use the bathroom too often. I say it's because I care about my bum. I do have to say though there are other needs and wants in my life, specifically speaking I really need a legit job. All in do time I suppose. Well goodnight awesome people until tomorrow.

Fighting the good fight

As many of you twenty somethings know, a dear older friend of mine has been battling cancer for the past year now. She has finished chemotherapy and radiation therapy which are both miracles from God giving her the strength to keep on keeping on. The doctor officially declared her cancer free last week. As a precautionary measure however she has to take a herceptin infusion every three weeks for about five more months.  But what in the world does this have to do with our May Photo Challenge you ask? Well today's challenge is the letter F so I chose the word fight for this post. Through all of the doctors and nurses poking and prodding, medicine changes, unexpectedness, losing breath, sleepless nights, and too many trips to Lexington and back to count, Sheila has never stopped fighting. She continually relies on God for her strength and ability to keep fighting this each and every day. My picture today is of her with a good friend and me standing around her, fighting the battle of this challenge in prayer together.

Good morning!

Mornings are tricky for me. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I try to hide from it. But I do have a typical routine that happens every morning whether I'm trying to hide from it or am ready for it. Number one thing I do is use the John. It is good to relieve one's self first thing in the morning. Typically after that I sit in bed and contemplate what I will be doing that day. So here you go, my morning routine in picture form. Look how relaxed Charlie looks on that pillow!

Fifty Shades of Green...

An interesting way to start a monthly photo challenge I suppose. To be honest I wasn't exactly sure what to do for today's photo, so I just kind of winged it. I enjoy taking walks outside quite a lot and since the rain held off for this beautiful Sunday, Eyre and I were able to take a walk around the old campus after church. It was nice seeing all the different shades of green in the trees and on the grass and on the flowers. Here is my picture for the day. Check out all that luscious green. (I really hope I used that word appropriately for the context of my picture). Captain Something Fun signing off.

Captain's Party

Saturday we celebrated Captain Something Fun's birthday with a Captain America themed party. I'm just going to leave a few photos here for our avid followers. Thanks to The Farmer's Daughter for taking beautiful photos and sharing them with us.

We had a photo booth, played games, danced to some old dances, drank coffee/tea, and ate way too much. It was fun party.

Waiting on the photographer to adjust the settings. We were all kind of in our own world.

We were fighting against the wind and the intermittent sun.

Sunshine attacks and disorganized.

Someone missed the pretty smiles memo.

Oh finally, a decent photo where we all are smiling.

The Cake and Candles

Gotta get all 24 (er 25) of those candles.
