Ehf.

I contemplated between fingers and fur. Both are integral parts of my every day. I settled on the former primarily because I have left my laptop for two hours at most today...and that's really pushing it. My poor little fingers and wrists are flat out pooped. However, I AM SUPER MOTIVATED and am pushing through the pain because after this assignment is complete all that stands between me and the end of the semester is a measly little test I'm not worried a lick about.

Being as this assignment was given over a month ago, I have no excuse not to have it done. I chose to put it off because I know that I work best and most efficiently under pressure. When I work ahead, I end up getting engrossed in YouTube videos by children with CP or sifting through an unholy amount of research articles unnecessarily. In fact, I discovered this sweet soul just recently. Fabulous videos but definitely not helping me get my studying done.

Oh, BTW just incase you really wanted to know, I took this picture by setting my timer for 10 seconds, holding my phone with my teeth and crossing my eyes to get a glimpse of the screen to make sure I was actually getting my hands in the picture.

For all you non-students (I'm looking at you Granny Eyre, Captain FunSomething, and Miss Ellaneous!), be so happy you're not stressing right now. And feel free to send me a care package anytime!

Until tomorrow (when it's all over!!!),

Fireflies and Lighting Bugs

Today's challenge is something that starts with F. Here is a firefly on a book by Eric Carle.

At work, I've been reading books and putting questions and vocabulary in the front for the tutors to use during their sessions. There are over a 1000 books in the room I believe. Some of the books were finished this past summer, but I've been getting through about 10-12 a day in between other meetings and projects. I think I've gotten through the majority of three grade levels. Mainly I have little bitty picture books and chapter books left to complete.

So there's my F word, although I generally call them lighting bugs. I used to catch them and keep them in jars during the summer. They rarely lasted the night in a jar, though. Sometimes I crushed their butts onto my hands so I could glow. That wasn't very nice of me.

As an aside, this challenge reminds me a quote that my high school math teacher said:

"If you want an F reduction, you need another F word: effort."

Cheers!

Day 3: Starts with an "F"

While trying to think of something to write about for this prompt, the only words that came to mind were vulgar ones...I think that is because the "F word" was forbidden in my house growing up. It was the #1 no-no word. It really is a filthy-sounding word that I try very hard not to use...even now when I am officially an adult and can say whatever the F word I want to! Haha! See what I did there? But now that I have permission to say it, it's not as fun anymore. Funny how that works, huh?

Other words that come to mind that start with an "F" are related to food in some way:
  • French Fries
  • Fish
  • Flour
  • Flan
  • Fried green tomatoes
  • Flax
  • Fresh
  • Frozen
  • Farming
I also think of beautiful flowers...
